Burglaries in New Freedom-

The Southern Regional Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries that have occurred over the last year. The residential burglaries have occurred on streets in the area of E. Main Street and S. Shafer Drive in New Freedom Borough, have involved forced entry into residences, and vary in times. The burglaries involve thefts of mostly jewelry and money. Wanted for CRIMINAL HOMICIDE

York City Police issued an arrest warrant for Derrick Eugene Johnson, 22, of York City. Johnson shot and killed a 21-year-old York man February 17th in the area of East Market and North State streets. Johnson is charged with criminal homicide. Trevahn Kent, 21, of York, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting. Johnson is a black male, about 5-feet-11-inches tall and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Robbery in Spring Garden Township-

On Friday, March 1, 2013 at 1601 hours, Spring Garden Township Police Department responded to the Family Mart at 1700 East Market Street in York for a robbery. The actor, armed with a folding knife, attacked and injured the business owner during the course of the robbery in which cash was stolen from the business. The actor is described as a white male, 5’9"-6’0", late 20’s to 30’s, with a full brown beard and moustache, and a medium to thin build. An SUV operated by another subject served as the actor vehicle. The SUV appeared to have an exterior rear spare tire. Burglary of a Non-residential Building in Spring Grove Borough

Sometime between January 12 & 20, 2013 on York Avenue in Spring Grove Borough a unknown person broke out a back window, removed a screen, and entered a non-residential building. Once inside the building, the suspect(s) broke into an RV and stole numerous items. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 755-TIPS.
